Senior Services

Catholic Charities professionals and volunteers provide essential services to seniors in their homes in order to improve their quality of life and delay or prevent nursing home care.

The Senior In-Home Counseling Program provides professional counseling services to help seniors cope with issues such as isolation, depression, chronic illness, housing, and financial issues.  Counseling services are provided in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Stark, Marshall, and Fulton Counties.

The Caring Companions Program is a volunteer program designed to assist isolated seniors living in the LaSalle, Peoria, and Rock Island communities. Caring Companions volunteers provide socialization, transportation, and assistance with activities of daily living.

Referrals are accepted from seniors, their families, or community service providers.  There are no fees for these services.  These programs receive funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services, the Heart of Illinois United Way, the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging, and donor contributions.
