Adoption
Adoption is a legal and sacred beginning between an adult and child in need of a family. We recognize that each of us is first, a child of God. As members of God’s family, we place primary importance on the family unit.
Our focus is to ensure the best interests of the child are met by educating adoptive families, preparing them to meet the challenges of adoption. In aligning with our mission to respect and defend the dignity of each individual, we extend a lifelong commitment to all members of the adoption triad.
Adoption can be a wonderful way to add to a family but it is not for everyone. The qualifications for adoptive parents and costs of adoption vary by program. The waiting time also varies. For more information, please contact an adoption specialist at the office closest to you.
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria has been coordinating adoptions for over 100 years. We provide services for clients of all religious affiliations. We are a licensed child welfare agency accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services.
